About the Scholarship

International Students are welcome to apply for the Islamic Development Bank and KAUST Joint Fully Funded PhD Scholarships in Saudi Arabia Program. The scholarship allows students to enroll in PhD-level programs in any of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology’s courses. The scholarship’s application deadline is Open.

Benefits of the Scholarship

IDB and KAUST jointly sponsor the Scholarships in Saudi Arabia, which grants 5 scholarships yearly. According to KAUST policies, the scholarship is a fully financed program and will be provided for the length of the study program that qualifies. Scholarship Eligibility

Citizens of IDB member nations are able to apply for a scholarship to study for a full-time 4-year PhD at KAUST through the Scholarships in Saudi Arabia program.

The candidate must be:

  • ​A citizen of an IDB member country (visit the IDB Merit Scholarship Program for a full listing of member countries)
  • Age not over 35 years
  • Engaged in full-time employment in an academic, research or development institute in the home country and the application is nominated by that institution
  • Meets the eligibility criteria of the IDB Merit Scholarship Program
  • Have a firm admission offer at the KAUST for a Ph.D program
